UHF Wristband

Project Aim

To realise a smart wearable device, easy and convenient access control application by RFID wristband. The hands-free solution helps people get access to a place without the need to reach your keyfob or card to the reader when people don't have a spare hand.

About My Role

Conceptualise various appearance designs and build the 3D model in line with project objectives and cross-functional team communication with the engineer to evaluate the feasibility of ideas. Performance and wearable tests to refine issues and make solutions.

Conducting Processes

1. Sketch:

Considering customers’ requirements to decide on features of the product.

Evaluated the production and installation efficiency to design various product appearances.

2. 3D Modelling:

3. Mock-up (3D Printing):

Made the soft material version to simulate silicon texture and the hard material version to simulate engineering plastic texture by 3D printing. Through these two versions to compare the wearing feeling and choose the way of plastic injection.

4. Tooling test and Adjustment:

Decided the material, and roughness of surface texture, then processed the tooling making. Following the injection test results to ensure each component could install well and tooling adjustments.
