Website Revamp Project
About My Role:
Early stage: Collect references for user browsing flow, design style, and framework. Develop initial ideas for the website's visual design. Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to execute a focus group plan.
Middle stage: As a member of the marketing team, I connect with the website production company and discuss the details of the design. Convey our team’s ideas clearly using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
Late stage: Organize and produce comprehensive marketing materials, including product information, photos, and graphics.
Project Aim:
The company’s original website has successfully served its purpose for a decade, standing the test of time. However, over the years, the company has accumulated a significant amount of new information that we now wish to share with customers. Recognizing the need for a fresh approach, the marketing team has decided to upgrade the official website. This upgrade aims to present improved visuals and richer content, ensuring that the website not only looks modern but also effectively communicates the company’s latest updates and offerings.
Project Objective:
1. Understand Customers’ Needs and Challenges: Identify the difficulties customers face when using our website to enhance their overall experience.
2. Highlight Core Values and Strengths: Clearly communicate the company’s core values and strengths to better connect with our audience.
3. Enhance User Browsing Flow: Implement a user-centred design to improve the navigation and usability of the website.
Conducting Processes
1. Collect and Analyse References:
Considering the various purposes of the website, it is essential to evaluate multiple layout references to find the most suitable design for each page. This process involves researching and analyzing a variety of successful websites.
2. Research - Focus Group:
After identifying the interview subjects, we classified the degree of relationships between consumers and us, using information from previous customer satisfaction surveys. We then divided them into three interview groups based on these classifications.
Each group discussed their goals differently. For example, with the group that had the closest relationship to us, we focused on understanding why they were satisfied and asked various questions to identify our advantages. Conversely, with the most distant group, we explored potential issues they raised.
The information gathered from the interviews was carefully filtered to ensure reliability and was then analyzed to determine significant planning objectives.
3. Framework Planning:
Design the user browsing flow.
4. Design and Prototype:
To accurately express our ideas, I used Adobe XD to create a prototype that effectively communicated our design concepts. Additionally, I designed a motion graphic to demonstrate the desired graphic effects and collaborated with team members to create the company's favicon, ensuring a cohesive visual representation.
5. Content Production and Element Collection:
Arrange all product photos and make sure their background are all the same and take the photos for the application scenario of products.
6. Content Upload and Testing:
Upload the content, test the pages, and make sure the link buttons work smoothly.
